    : Minimizing Misconceptions on the Topic of Electric Circuits by Predict-Observe-Explain Learning. This pretest-posttest control group experiment was aimed to improve students\u27 understanding of the concept and to minimize their misconceptions on the topic of electric circuits. The subjects were se­lected using cluster random sampling from high school students in Gorontalo. The instruments used to collect the data included pretest, posttest and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using t-test. The students\u27 conception profiles were carried out using Certainty of Response Index (CRI) technique. The results show the significant difference in the posttest average and normalized gain average between the experimental and the control classes. The results are supported by the fact that misconceptions in the experimental class are smaller than those in the control class. The application of predict-observe-explain learning is effective to improve the understanding of the concept and minimize the misconceptions

    Stabilitas Termal Minuman Emulsi Dari Pekatan Karoten Minyak Sawit Merah Selama Penyimpanan

    Minuman emulsi, sebagai produk dengan kadar air yang tinggi (30-40%, mudah untuk mengalami kerusakan akibat reaksi hidrolisis dan oksidasi, selanjutnya dapat menghasilkan produk lanjut berupa prooksidan dan radikal bebas yang sangat berbahaya bagi kesehatan dan bersifat karsinogenik.Analisis terhadap kestabilan oksidatif- termal minuman emulsi perlu dilakukan untuk menentukan status keamanan pangan produk tersebut. Bilangan peroksida (PV) digunakan sebagai penanda tingkat oksidasi dan kerusakan lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui stabilitas oksidatif-termal minuman emulsi yang diproduksi dari minyak sawit merah dan mengetahui kinetika Perubahan bilangan peroksida selama penyimpanan. Penyimpanan dilakukan pada empat macam suhu (lemari es, suhu ruang, 30 oC, 40 oC, dan 50 oC) dan pengukuran PV dilakukan secara titrasi menggunakan 0,1N Na2S2O3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selama penyimpanan, PV mengalami peningkatan signifikan, padahal dalam produk terkandung karoten (anti oksidan alami) yang tinggi. Laju peningkatan PV terendah teramati pada penyimpanan di suhu refrigerasi (9oC) yaitu 0.354 meq O2/kg produk/minggu dan meningkat dengan persamaan PV = PV0+ t.e(-827.8(1/T) + 1.866) sejalan dengan peningkatan suhu (T dalam Kalvin) dan masa simpan (t dalam minggu). Berdasarkan batas maksimum PV yang direkomendasi oleh Palm Oil Refiners Association of Malaysia (PORAM) produk pangan berminyak, yaitu 5 meq O2/kg produk, masa kadaluarsa minuman emulsi tiap suhu penyimpanan (refrigerasi, suhu kamar, dan suhu 30 oC, 40 oC, dan 50 oC) adalah 11.8; 5.0; 9.7; 9.5 and 8.6 minggu.     Dalam konteks persoalan manajemen kelas, yang dapat dilakukan oleh guru adalah pelaksanaan manajemen kelas. Penelitian ini berupaya mengungkapkan Peran Guru Dalam Pelaksanaan Manajemen KelasDi Gugus Bungong Seulanga Kecamatan Syiah Kuala, Kota Banda Aceh. Secara khusus penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) peran guru dalam pelaksanaan manajemen kelas di Gugus Bungong Seulanga Kecamatan Syiah Kuala Kota Banda Aceh terlaksana dengan baik, dan (2) cara mengatasi kendala-kendala dalam pelaksanaan manajemen kelas di (Gugus) SD Negeri Bungong Seulanga Kecamatan Syiah Kuala Kota Banda Aceh. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi danwawancara. Teknik observasi (pengamatan) dan didukung dengan teknik wawancara, teknik wawancara adalah dengan mewawancarai 8 (delapan) guru kelas. Selanjutnya seluruh datadiolah dengan tahapan anlisis data kualitatif yaitu mereduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Dari Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru kelas di SD Gugus Bungong Seulanga Kecamatan Syiah Kuala Kota Banda Aceh memiliki kemampuan yang baik dalam pelaksanaan manajemen kelas. Guru sangat berperan dalam merencanakan, mengorganisakan, meminpin, dan mengendalikan kelas, Guru membina dan membimbing peserta didik sesuai dengan berbagai latar belakang sosial, ekonomi, budaya serta sifat-sifat individunya, membantu peserta didik belajar dan bekerja sesuai dengan potensi dan kemampuan yang dimilikinya, dan mengatasi hambatan-hambatan yang menghalangi terwujudnya interaksi dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Kendala-kendala dalam manajemen kelas yang terjadi biasanya berkaitan dengan siswa. Kendalanya pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung ada siswa yang membuat keributan dikelas, tidak mau mendengar penjelasan dari gurunya dan ada siswa tidak mau belajar. Kendala tersebut juga sering terjadi karena kurang kesiapan guru dalam manajemen kelas dan kurangnya memusatkan perhatian kapada siswa.Guru harusselalu memberi motivasi kepada siswa untuk belajar dengan baik. Jika ada siswa yang berbuat tidak baik guru menegur, sehingga perilaku siswa yang tidak baik tersebut tidak berkelanjutan suasana kelas tidak menjadi kacau dan tidak kondusif

    Using of Wingeom Software in Geometry Learning to Improving the of Mathematical Representation Ability

    The purpose of this study was to determine the use of Wingeom software in geometry learning in the Department of Mathematics Education. This type of research is quasi-experimental. This study examines the use of Wingeom software in geometry learning in the Department of Mathematics Education. The population in this study were all students of the Department of Mathematics Education under the Faculty Education and Teacher Training, Universitas Malikussaleh, and the samples were students of class A1 and class A2. The study was divided into two learning groups, namely the experimental group with the use of Wingeom Software and the control group with ordinary learning. This study begins with an instrument test which shows that (1) Validity indicates that the results are significant, (2) Very high reliability, (3) Good distinguishing power and (4) Moderate difficulty level. To test of homogeneity and normality that the data is homogeneous and normal. Based on the results of calculations using the t test at the significance level α = 0.05, obtained tcount of 4.59 with a significance value of 0.003 while the table of 1.68. Because tcount> ttable (3.127> 1.68) and significance <0.05 (0.003 <0.05). Then it can be concluded that the increase in the ability of mathematical representation of students who get learning with the use of Wingeom software is better than the ability of mathematical representation of students who get ordinary learning without Wingeom software

    Analisis Sensitivitas Lingkungan Oscp (Oil Spill Contingency Plan) Di Pesisir Selatan Delta Mahakam, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur

    The research was one part of oil spill contingency plan (OSCP) developed for Delta Mahakam area, where oil &amp; gas exploration and exploitation linked with rich biodiversity supporting coastal community livelihood. Environmental sensitivity analysis for OSCP only do two early stages of OSCP scope, which integrated with the dangers of coastal vulnerability. This analysis mapped environmental component from oil pollution become sensitivity rangking as an effort to support response development strategies and priorities for the coastal resources protection. The aims of this research were (1) to establish environment sensitivity rank and (2) to identify primary factor supporting the environmental sensitivity for OSCP in south Delta Mahakam area. The result of analysis showed environmenal sensitivity was 62.37% (517.52 km), its mean very high sensitivity. Then the high sensitivity criteria was 11.31% (94 km). The criteria of medium sensitivity was 11.92% (99 km). While for low sensitivity and very low sensitivity respectively were 1.78% (15 km) and 12.64% (105 km). Based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA), 36.01% variability was explained by axis of factor 1. The others variability 18.53% and 13.93% were explained by axis of the factor 2 and factor 3. Axis of factor 1 for coastal exposure (EK), oil residence index (OR), coastal type (TP), and biological resources (SH) had a quite large linear combinations coefficient, amounted to 0.94 (EK&amp;OR), 0.83 (TP) and 0.75 (SH). This indicated a very high contribution for environmental sensitivity OSCP level drafting. On axis of factor 2, the linear coeffisien combinations for the resource utilization of port (PL) was 0.83 and settlement (PM) was 0.85. Axis of factor 3 contributed 0.75 and 0.66 on migas platform (PO) and placement of passive fishing gear/catchment area (AT). However, the utilization of coastal resources for PL, PM, PO and AT were on axis of factor 2 and factor 3 had a considerable distance with its SI variable. This possible caused by each variable percentage distribution which the value was very minor ranged 0.001-0.52%, so its not representated coastal resources elements closeness with SI variable in the study area

    Improving Students' Mathematical Communication Skills Through Learning Start Learning Models With A Question on Pythagoras

    This type of research is quasi-experimental. This study examines the Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) model in improving students' mathematical communication skills through the learning module. The population in this study were all students of mathematics education from the Teaching and Education Faculty, from semester V with the sample being students of class A1 and class A2. This study was divided into two learning groups, namely the experimental group by applying the Learning Start Learning Model with a Question (LSQ) and the control group with conventional learning. Based on the results of calculations using the t-test at the significance level α = 0.05 obtained a ttest of 4.64 with a significance value of 0.003, while the ttable of 1.76. Because tcount > ttable (4.64 > 1.76) and significance < 0.05 (0.003 < 0.05). It can be concluded that increasing students' mathematical communication skills by applying the Learning Start Learning Model with a Question (LSQ) and using the learning module is better than the mathematical communication skills of students who obtain conventional learning without learning modules

    West Nusa Tenggara has been inhabited by three major tribes namely; Sasak in Lombok, Samawa, in western Sumbawa, and Mbojo tribe in the middle and east of Sumbawa Island. Other tribes in Indonesia such as Bali, Java, Medan, and others color the cultural diversity of the people of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The blending of various characters, cultures, and customs in a community of life is very potential to cause tribal, religious, belief, and racial conflicts. This fact occurs because of the lack of tolerance in the community. Tolerance can be built through well-planned education. This study aims to: 1) know the model of \u27learning devices\u27 IPA based on tolerance for school / madrasah in conflict prone areas, 2) to know the ability of science teachers in applying learning tools IPA based on tolerance, 3) to know the social skills of students in science learning, 4 ) know the attitude of student\u27s tolerance after learning, 5) knowing student cognitive learning outcomes after science-based learning tolerance. The research used is research development with model development of Kemp et al. (1994). This research was conducted in two stages, namely: (1) Development of Learning Device which includes; (a) Instructional Problems, (b) Learner Characteristics, (c) Task Analysis, (d) Objectives, (e) Content Sequencing, (f) Instructional Strategies, (g) Instructional Delivery, (h) Evaluation Instrumens, ) Instructional Resources.
